In case you haven’t already seen them at a few shows, or on Steve Priest’s layout at the NMRA National Convention in Kansas City this past August, Dimensional Modeling Concepts has created and is marketing 1970s versions of the Drott-Case Intermodal Lift Crane. It comes in two versions; an early 70s version and a late 70s version. There are differences in the upper catwalks, the hydraulic mechanical housing, and the ladder arrangements. The crane is offered as both a kit and as a fully-assembled model. See the store for pricing on each. Each crane kit comes with a full set of decals (let us know your railroad’s logo to supply) and a 28-page set of instructions, complete with photos of all steps of assembly. Assembled kits can be delivered either painted/decaled (let us know your railroad’s logo) or undecorated. These are highly-detailed models that you won’t find anywhere else. If you are modeling the 1970s through the 1990s, these cranes will be right at home in your intermodal yard! Allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of kits and 4-5 weeks for assembled models.
